Leona Hu
A native of Hunan, China, Leona has joined McCampbell Global as its Chinese legal and government affairs expert.  Leona will leverage her deep knowledge of Chinese law and government processes to help American companies safely navigate the shoals of government regulation and legal liability that foreign companies often face when doing business in China.

Now living and studying law in the U.S., Leona earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Economic Law from the prestigious Beijing Technology and Business University in 2002. She later returned to the University to earn her Masters in Law and to pursue an emphasis on Civil and Commercial law.  While completing her Masters she interned with the National People’s Congress on economic development projects.

Following school, Leona went to work as a lawyer for China Oceanwide, one of China’s largest private enterprises, where she wrote legal opinions and drafted agreements for the company’s many business undertakings, including a successful energy project in Inner Mongolia.

In 2007 Leona joined US/UK-based Thomson Reuters, as it worked to start an entirely new Chinese legal information business in Beijing.  Leona’s strong English language skills, as well as her commercial and economic law background, were put to work in building up on the company’s Chinese Competition Law offering.  Leona also worked to summarize and organize the opinions of the Supreme People’s Court, the highest court in China.
